Our Vision and Values

We care, we strive, together we thrive

Our vision is for every child to feel valued, develop confidence and achieve their best. We want our children to become thoughtful, curious and resilient learners who care for themselves, respect others and contribute positively to the world around them.

Our ethos brings this vision to life through nine values, organised around three shared commitments.

We care

We build a caring community where children learn to look after themselves and treat others with kindness.

Consideration
We encourage children to be kind, calm and respectful. They learn to consider other people’s feelings and understand how their actions affect those around them.

I can be kind. I can be calm. I can be respectful.

Communication
We help children listen carefully, speak politely and share their ideas. We want them to express themselves confidently while making space for other people’s voices.

I can listen. I can be polite. I can share my ideas.

Wellbeing
We support children to look after their minds and bodies, take pride in themselves and their work, and recognise the choices and support that help them feel well.

I can present myself and my work neatly. I can stay healthy in mind and body. I can empower myself.

We strive

We nurture ambition and a love of learning, helping children approach challenges with confidence and curiosity.

Belief
We encourage children to believe in their abilities, have aspirations and recognise that they can make a positive difference.

I can aspire. I can be confident. I can make changes.

Resilience
We help children keep going when learning is challenging, learn from mistakes and recognise that improvement takes effort and practice.

I can persevere. I can learn from my mistakes. I can be positive.

Innovation
We encourage children to ask questions, use their imagination and explore new ideas. They learn to take thoughtful risks in their learning and try different ways to solve problems.

I can be inquisitive. I can be imaginative. I can take risks.

Together we thrive

We want every child to experience belonging and understand the contribution they can make to a team and a wider community.

Teamwork
We teach children to work together, understand their role and support one another. They learn that everyone has something valuable to contribute.

I can collaborate. I can be a team member. I can help others.

Community
We encourage children to care for people, animals and the environment. They learn to participate fully and take responsibility for helping their community remain safe and welcoming.

I can look after the world around me. I can look after the people around me. I can participate fully.

Inclusion
We celebrate differences and value what makes each person unique. We encourage children to welcome others, listen to different perspectives and recognise everyone’s right to belong.

I can celebrate differences. I can include others. I can be open-minded.

Our values and British values

Our school values help children understand and practise the fundamental British values. These connections prepare them to participate confidently and respectfully in life in modern Britain.

British value How it connects to our ethos
Democracy Through communication, teamwork and community, children learn to listen, share ideas, collaborate and participate. They develop an understanding that everyone’s voice matters and that decisions should be made fairly.
The rule of law Through community, children learn why rules and laws matter, how they protect people and why we all have responsibilities towards others.
Individual liberty Through belief and wellbeing, children develop confidence, express their views and make informed choices. They learn that their freedoms sit alongside the rights and safety of others.
Mutual respect Through consideration, communication and teamwork, children practise kindness, politeness and cooperation. They learn to treat others with dignity, including when they disagree.
Tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs Through inclusion, children learn to celebrate differences, include others and remain open-minded. We encourage respect for people of all faiths and those with no religious belief.

Living our vision

Our values provide a shared language for learning, relationships and everyday choices. They help children understand what it means to care, how to strive and why we achieve more together.

Working in partnership with families, we aim to help every child feel that they belong, take pride in their progress and grow into someone who makes a positive difference.
