Our Governing Body
We care, we strive, together we thrive
Our governing body works with school leaders to help every child receive a high-quality education in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.
Governors bring different experiences and perspectives to the school. They provide support and challenge, helping us maintain high expectations and make decisions in the best interests of our pupils.
What our governors do
The governing body provides strategic oversight of the school. Its responsibilities include:
-
Setting the school’s vision, ethos and strategic direction.
-
Holding the headteacher to account for educational performance.
-
Overseeing the school’s finances and ensuring money is well spent.
-
Monitoring safeguarding, inclusion and the wellbeing of pupils and staff.
The headteacher and staff are responsible for the day-to-day running of the school.
How we work
Our governors work through the full governing body rather than standing committees. This enables governors to consider the school’s priorities together and maintain a shared understanding of its progress.
