Welcome to Prospect Vale Online
Monday 11th January 2010
Dear Parents/ Carers,
First of all I would like to wish everybody a Happy New Year and what a start we have had! Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation over the past week, as we faced extreme weather conditions. As I’m sure you will appreciate difficult decisions had to be made, however the health and safety of our children and the staff at Prospect Vale was paramount.
Additionally, I would like to thank the Prospect Vale team and Governing Body who behind the scenes have been incredible and have guaranteed the safe return of our children to school. Huge efforts were made on Sunday to ensure that we were able to open today. Furthermore, using local contacts we have been supported in our endeavours by having our pavements and Prospect Vale itself gritted this morning!
As the weather changes we will be able to re-open the Brandon Avenue entrance and reinstate year 4 back into their classrooms. The children will not be going outside until we are certain that the playground is thawed sufficiently.
Let’s hope that we don’t have a repeat of this situation for another 30 years! Should the situation change, information will be updated on the school website (www.prospectvale.stockport.sch.uk) and that of Stockport Council (www.stockport.gov.uk). Also Key 103 and Galaxy Radio will be informed.
Once again, thank you for your understanding and apologies for any inconvenience that has been caused by the school closure.
Yours sincerely,
Paul McDowell
